Because dogs are a social animal, left untrained, wild behaviors will naturally develope. Discipline training for dogs will ensure a well-bred pet. Obedience dog training makes your dog easier to take care of, but it also makes the dog happier.

If your dog is chewing your property or going to the bathroom in the house, you may consider training. The training is very effective, but that doesn’t gaurantee that it will solve all of the dog’s problems.

The most important skill needed in dog obedience training is effective communication that enables your dog to obey any command such as ‘heel,’ ‘stay,’ ‘sit’ and ‘come. It is very important that both you the owner and your pet enjoy obedience lessons by making them entertaining.

The top two obedience training styles in terms of popularity and importance are lessons with leash and collar and lessons that use rewards. You will find that by training your dog with rewards and not the leash and or collar methods, will in some ways be easier for both you and your dog. You will find that it is a less intense approach. In reward training, the dog is encouraged and rewarded for good behavior.

Rewarding your dog for desired actions will cause them to learn more quickly. It is also just as important to give your dog alot of praise. Obedience training sessions should be short and constant as a dog’s behavior can change from time to time, so constant training is always a good idea.

The key to preventing or treating behavior problems is learning to teach the dog to redirect his natural behavior to outlets that are acceptable in domestic settings.

One of the biggest mistakes that you can go into obedience training is that it will correct your dogs behavior problems. What you will find is that obedience train will give you the skills to help your dog deal with behavior problems, where you can work with your dog to correct the problems.
