Crafters - How To Deal With Creative Block

Posted: February 15th, 2010 under Generation.

If you are like me, you get frustrated when you fail to come up with fresh and engaging concepts for your next creative project.  I love to think of this as being similar to ‘writer’s block’ - any creative person can also get in a rut and run out of creative ideas.  Latterly, I have been in the rut and have been searching for ways to kick-start my creativity again.  You could be interested in what I found at infoandarticles.net - a great website for arts and crafts.

firstly , I stumbled across The Artist’s Way review which I read with amazement and then proceeded to buy the book.  I had been told of this book before but had dismissed it.  I’m glad that I’ve now read it as it has utterly modified how I suspect about creative ability and capacity.  After working my way thru the diverse exercises, I discovered some long forgotten interests that when I did them again I gained immense enjoyment.  I found myself asking why I had stopped doing those things.

The other surprise from the site was the DVD Rubber Paper Scissors with Judi Watanabe review which also led me to buy and I’m so glad i did.  For those who don’t know, Judi Watanabe is a vet in the rubber stamping industry.  You may have seen her lately on CraftTV doing super scrapbook-related episodes.  For a period of time now, I had been longing for a total instructional DVD on rubber stamping.  You undoubtedly guessed that I used to be a rubber stamper, but still set in all the old strategies.  It is now time to bring myself up-to-date and this DVD is stuffed full of step-by-step instructions to help me.  I also must complement the great video and audio production.
