Fight SAD with Bathroom & Kitchen Wall Tiles

Posted: under Generation.

The kitchen is the heart of any family home. It is where we prepare and cook for the family, wash up and in most cases it is where breakfast and other informal dining experiences can be enjoyed. It can be a shame when people don’t always make the best of their kitchen layout, no matter if your kitchen is huge or tiny, bland or stylish no matter what style kitchen you have there are always little things you can do to improve the look, feel and functionality of the room. These can be simple things such as adding furniture or experimenting with different layouts to removing fixtures in the room; like the type of flooring or updating to more modern marble tiles for the kitchen.

The best sort of kitchen is one that lets in a lot of light in the morning, as this is a very good way to start the day. A kitchen that lets in light around the room allows you to naturally wake up whilst having your breakfast, before climbing the stairs to brush your teeth so you don’t have to make use of your family dental plan. Another example of rooms like this is the bathroom, where it is a good idea to have a lot of light in the room. As this is a room where you are cleaning yourself as well as taking care of your teeth, it is a good idea to have enough light so you can see what you are doing.

Simply by installing good kitchen wall tiles you can achieve a range of effects that will brighten up even the darkest kitchen. Choosing light tile colours helps to reflect light around the room, this is perfect for kitchens with restricted light or small windows. By using lighter marble tiles on the kitchen floor, you will reflect any light back up on to the kitchen wall tiles. Using a bright ceramic kitchen wall tile that compliments the marble tiles on the floor will look stylish as well as giving the illusion that your kitchen has more space.

When it comes to using bathroom tiles there are a number of different techniques that you can use. It is possible to use glass bathroom tiles that allow light through. You can get some amazing looks using these tiles either on the floor with lighting underneath or on walls. A new innovation in wall tiles are heat sensitive tiles that change colour depending on how hot the room is. You can get some truly spectacular looks unlike any other by using these tiles on the walls of your bath or shower unit.

This style would breathe new life to the classic styles such as the brahmin jessica handbags. The Louis Vuitton Monogram Miroir products all share an eye-catching reflective gold or silver lining.

Have A Multimeter In Your Toolbox

Posted: under Generation.

In today’s world there are a lot of reasons to have a multimeter in your toolbox. Though it wasn’t always the case where everyone had a multimeter, in fact, the most common hand held meter that was around for the do-it-yourself-er was the analog volt meter. The biggest reason was because of the cost and lack of knowledge. Now the cost of a digital multimeter is of no concern unless you want the higher quality multimeter.

There are many types of multimeters on the market with cost starting below $10.00 up to many hundreds of dollars. There are still analog multimeters available though they are harder to find because everyone wants a more easy to read digital multimeter. I remember the days when my trusty little analog voltmeter would give me a reading that was all over the scale and it was very hard to pin point the exact reading when charging a battery and 13.8volts was the goal.

You don’t have to be a electrician to under stand the basics of electricity but you better respect it or it will knock you on your butt or worst! Even DC [direct current] can give you trouble, have you ever touch a spark plug when your car engine is running or how did you feel after touching a electric fence?

AC [alternating current] is the common power source for the home or job. The first rule in trouble shooting anything electrical is to turn off all power sources before you start to disassemble anything and then take your multimeter and test the wires for any electricity before your hands touch anything. Turning off the light switch isn’t enough go to the beaker box and turn the power source off. Even then you better test the wires because you may have a back feed from another source.

Just the volt meter in your multimeter will save you a lot of agony when doing house repairs. With a little practice you will find that trusty multimeter giving you a lot of satisfaction in hunting down that faulty circuit or why that light doesn’t work. Common sense and a good book on how to work with electricity using a multimeter will put you in good standing.

Multi Level Marketing Basics - The MLM Business Model

Posted: under Generation.

MLM, or Multi Level Marketing, when combined with the Internet, creates a powerful formula for creating a successful home business and achieving financial freedom.

This business model is used by hundreds of companies to move their goods and services to the end consumer.  In this article, my goal is to provide you with information on what this industry is and what it is not.

You can only make an informed educated decision as to whether or not this business concept if right for you if you have the required information upon which to make that decision.  I hope to provide some of that information in this article.

Multi Level Marketing is simply a business model for moving products and services from production to the consumer using independent distributors with a multi level commission payout plan.  Since distributors can recruit other distributors and establish teams that work together, this business model is often also called Network Marketing.

There are many myths about MLM companies, including that they are illegal pyramid schemes or scams.  For true Multi Level Marketing companies, nothing could be further from the truth.  Unfortunately, those who believe these myths, simply do not understand how MLM companies work.

The first thing that you need to know is that MLM is not illegal and it is not a pyramid scheme.  While the organizational structure resembles a pyramid in shape, this is true of almost all businesses.  There are far more workers in the lower ranks of any business then at the top, if not, the business would collapse.  Not everyone in the company can be CEO or Vice President.  If fact, Multi Level Marketing companies are one hundred percent legal and many multi-million dollar companies use this business model to market their products.

Some well known Multi Level Marketing companies include Herbalife, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Shaklee, Amway, Tupperware, Princess house (a subsidiary of Colgate Palmolive), A. L. Williams (Insurance), Melaleuca, U.S. Sprint, MCI, and NSA.  Companies such as these have been around for decades.

There are hundreds more MLM companies and just like other companies, some are good and some are not so good.  But MLM is certainly here to stay and it is an explosive growth field!  In fact, increasingly you will find more and more Fortune 500 companies employing the Network Marketing business model for some portion of their marketing portfolio!

So why are MLM companies and programs becoming so popular?  Well, the business model offers a wonderful opportunity for the “little guy” to start his own business on a part time basis with very little investment money upfront, but with a large income potential if she or he is willing to put in some work!  Contrary to what some people would want you to believe, MLM is certainly not a get rich quick scheme and requires effort to grow your business.

John Paul Getty is often quoted as having said that he would always prefer earning 1% of a hundred peoples efforts than 100% of his own efforts.  And that is precisely what Multi Level Marketing is all about.  The Multi Level Marketing sales force members are not actually employees of the company, but instead they are independent distributors who are compensated for their efforts by commission based on the amount of product moved by not only themselves, but also by those whom they recruit as distributors.

As each distributor recruits others to become distributors, they create what is known as a downline and in addition to their own retail sales commissions, they earn a wholesale commission on the amount of products their downline distributors move to consumers.  This process goes on for some designated number of levels and is where the term “multi level” originates.

The more people a distributor can recruit for his downline, the larger will be their total commissions.  The number of levels that a distributor will earn override commissions on will depend upon the company’s compensation plan but five to seven or more levels is not unusual.  These wholesale override commissions can quickly add up for distributors with a large downline.

A strong incentive is thus created not only for a distributor to recruit more distributors for their downline, but also to train them to move products as well.  Thus a successful distributor will want to duplicate their success by teaching their downline members how to be successful.  By making their downline members successful, they make themselves more successful.

Building large stable residual income is therefore the result of successfully recruiting, training, and retaining others.  The better one is at doing these things, the larger their income will become.  While it is not necessarily easy, it can be very rewarding.

Want to be your own boss?  Millions of people are earning a solid income using this business model working from home.   A telephone, basic computer, fax machine, a HUGE ambition, and the knowledge of how to proceed to grow your business are all it really takes!  Are you ready to explore the opportunities that Multi Level Marketing offers?

If so, did you know that sponsoring people into your MLM opportunity is completely irrelevant to making money in network marketing? (And no, I’m not talking about retailing your company’s products). Find out how you can get people to PAY YOU to prospect them… rather than you having to pay for your prospects. Click here to learn more at => The Renegade Network Marketer

The Choices of Natural Stone

Posted: under Generation.

Stones of the past seem to be the future!Stone is a product of nature and its appearance is a result of millions of years of geologic change and mineral composition. Extreme color variations, as well as variations in veining, shade, finish, texture, strength, hardness and density are all characteristics of natural stone. Some stones may contain a resin filler to fill in the natural fissures or pits in the stone’s surface. Special care is required for maintaining natural stone. Check with a local sales representative regarding the special needs for your stone selection. With proper care, its beauty will last a lifetime.

Granite:(Igneous Rock) Granite began as liquid magma in the earths core and is comprised mainly of quartz, feldspar, mica and other minerals. It’s high compressive strength, hardness and durability make it an ideal choice for flooring and counter tops as well as exterior applications.

Marble & Onyx: (Metamorphic Rock) Marble is formed from Limestone that has been heated by the earth’s core and changed into a crystalline structure. It is valued for its rich, beautiful colors and unique veining.

Limestone:(Sedimentary Rock) Limestone is comprised mainly of calcium carbonate and is the result of millions of years of sea shells and bones of sea creatures settling on the ocean floor. You can sometimes notice the fossils when examined closely.

Travertine: (Sedimentary Rock) Travertine began as Limestone and is a result of hot springs in the earth’s core. After the water evaporated, the layers of dissolved limestone and minerals gave the stone its banded appearance. The characteristic holes in the stone are a result from gas bubbles which evaporate and form crystals in the cavities. These cavities are sometimes left as is for a more rustic & antique look or filled with a tinted epoxy and honed for a more solid surface effect.

Slate:(Metamorphic) Slate is formed from compressed layers of the sedimentary rock shale that can be split to reveal beautiful colors and textured surfaces. Slate can be split and left with its natural cleft surface or gauged for a more consistent thickness.

Quartzite: (Metamorphic) Similar to slate, quartzite contains 95% quartz and a higher concentration of mica which gives it a sparkling texture. The current trend in stone is definitely travertine - as old looking as possible.

There are several things that can be done to stone to create new finishes. Here is a list of popular finishes:

Antiqued:This can mean different things to different manufacturers. The surface is usually brushed or honed with different pads, creating an old look. Sometimes the surface is acid washed, exposing a dimpled surface (this works especially well with travertine). The edges tend to have a chipped or tumbled look. Basically the stone looks like it’s been around a while.

Brushed:Wire brushes are used on the surface to create an undulated look.Chiseled: There are various methods used to produce this look, but basically the edges come out chipped. Generally the surface of the tile is honed or brushed.

Cobbled:Basically the same as chiseled, but the chips aren’t as deep.Honed: A matte surface is created similar to polishing, minus the last few pads. High Hone:A matte finish with a soft sheen, between honed and polished.Polished: Pads are used to create a glossy sheen on the surface of the stone.

Tumbling: Tumbled stones are put in a big cylinder and tumbled with other stones and smaller stones to create a rounded edge and softer finish. Length of time in the “Tumbler” determines how rounded the edges are. Softer stones, such as travertine, tend to have a more rounded edge than harder stones, such as marble.

Chiller Evaporators

Posted: under Generation.

The chillers evaporator is a heat exchanger that transfers heat from a process or air conditioning water circuit to the chillers cooler liquid refrigerant. Most air cooled chillers in the UK chiller hire market will be fitted with a shell and tube evaporator, a plate heat exchanger evaporator or a coil in tank evaporator. A shell and tube evaporator is used primarily on chilled water applications. When a chiller is fitted with this type of evaporator the chillers cool liquid refrigerant flows through tubes encased in a shell.

The process or air conditioning circuit water fills the shell flowing around the tubes. As heat is transferred from the water to the chillers refrigerant the gas boils inside the tubes and the resulting vapour is drawn into the chillers compressor.

Hot water will enter the shell at one end, chilled water leaving at the opposite end.
A Plate heat exchanger evaporator can be used for chilled water or fluid cooling applications. Stainless steel evaporators are especially suited in food and beverage applications such as batch cooling or potable water systems.

A coil in tank evaporator comprises a coil block, usually copper, with aluminium fins to provide an efficient heat transfer surface. The coil block is then submerged in a chilled water tank which acts as a thermal buffer for the refrigeration system. This type of coil is suited to hire chillers used on process cooling applications, typically reactor cooling systems in chemical cooling, petrochemical cooling & pharmaceutical cooling systems.

Air Cooled Chiller Condensers

The condenser is a major component of a water chiller. The condenser is a heat exchanger that rejects heat from the chillers refrigerant to air. Some chillers are water cooled. A Water cooled chiller gives up its heat into relatively cool water from a cooling tower, air-blast cooler or adiabatic cooler. A typical air cooled condenser fitted to an air cooled water chiller will use axial fans (propeller type) to draw outdoor air over a finned tube heat transfer surface (heat exchanger).

The temperature difference or “delta T” between the hot refrigerant gas that is flowing through the condenser and the cooler outdoor air induces heat transfer. The heat reduction of the chillers refrigerant vapour causes it to condense into liquid. The last part of the chiller condenser is called a sub-cooler. The chiller sub-cooler reduces the liquid gas temperature still further, under its condensing temperature. The air cooled chiller is best suited to chiller hire applications. Chiller hire projects require systems to be delivered and installed quickly with the minimum of fuss.

The Party Wall Act

Posted: under Generation.

The Party Wall Act makes provision in respect of party walls and excavation and construction in proximity to certain buildings or structures. The 1996 Amendment to the Act was introduced to govern disputes between property owners that share a party wall. The Act enables a building owner to undertake work within the scope of the Act and unless an adjoining owner consents to the works, the act sets out a procedure whereby the matter is referred to party wall surveyors for determination by Award. The Party Wall Act 1996 is intended to provide a framework for preventing and resolving disputes in relation to party walls, boundary walls and excavations near neighbouring buildings.

The Act provides a fair solution to the problems that are frequently encountered when building on or adjacent boundaries or in confined areas. The Act also covers “party structures” which include walls, floors or other partitions between parts of a building in separate ownership.

Does the Act affect the ownership of a Party Wall? No, but in many cases the Act will prevent disputes arising in the first place.

The Party Wall Act provides a building owner, who wishes to carry out various sorts of work to an existing party wall, with additional rights going beyond ordinary common law rights. The Act also provides that a building owner must not cause unnecessary inconvenience. Although the Act contains no enforcement procedures, starting work without serving a notice could mean yourneighbour could seek a court injunction or other legal redress. An adjoining owner cannot stop someone from exercising their rights given to them by the Act, but may be able to influence how and at what times work is undertaken. Adjoining owners should note that the primary purpose of the Act is to facilitate development.

Under the Act, notice must be served and if agreement cannot be reached, party wall surveyors may be appointed.
